It was an intimate and relaxed launch at The New Theatre last night for Season 2014. I got to sit on stage with Artistic Director Lou Fischer and riff on why I'm directing the Australian Premiere of Christopher Durang's Broadway hit 'Why Torture is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them.'
To quote Tony Abbott: "While the government deplores the use of torture, we accept that sometimes in difficult circumstances difficult things happen."
Written in 2009, Durang's play is still as relevant as ever.
And distrubingly more relevant to Australian audiences right now.
